Travertine Cleaning & Polishing in Ventura County, CA

Dull Travertine? It Usually Needs Polishing, Not Replacing.

Travertine is beautiful, but it’s soft and full of natural holes, so it collects dirt, loses its shine and etches easily. Most dull travertine floors, showers and patios don’t need to be replaced. They need a proper deep clean, polishing to bring back the finish, and a sealer to protect it.

Travertine cleaning and polishing is one of William Cave’s specialties. He handles every stone job himself across Ventura, Oxnard, Camarillo, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley and the rest of Ventura County. Call or text (805) 620-8546 for a free quote.

Travertine Floor Cleaning Ventura County, CA

Why Travertine Gets Dirty and Dull So Fast

Travertine is a natural limestone with open pores and small holes. Dirt, mop water and spills settle into those pores and the grout, and the floor slowly turns gray. Foot traffic and sand from the beach wear down the polish, and anything acidic, like vinegar, citrus, wine or many store cleaners, etches dull spots into the surface.

Our travertine floor cleaning uses pH-neutral solutions made for stone, agitation and hot water extraction to lift the dirt out of the pores and grout without hurting the stone.

Travertine Polishing Near You

Polishing Brings Back the Finish

After cleaning, travertine polishing removes light scratches, etch marks and the worn, dull look from high-traffic paths. We match the finish to what you want, from a soft honed look to a higher shine, so the whole floor looks even again.

Polishing works on travertine floors, showers, bathroom walls, countertops and fireplace surrounds. Deep chips and filled holes that have popped out can be repaired before polishing.

Travertine Sealing

Sealing Keeps It Looking Clean Longer

Because travertine is porous, sealing is the step that protects your investment. A penetrating stone sealer helps the surface resist water, oil and stains, and makes regular cleaning much easier. We recommend resealing travertine every couple of years depending on traffic, and showers and kitchens may need it more often.
